THE PROCESS
1. Mail completed application and fees to PCS. See application (above) for mailing address.
2. PCS reviews complete application and all required eligibility materials (See Candidate Information Bulletin)
If application is incomplete, PCS will notify you of any missing information
(You will be notified either via email, postal service or phone number supplied on application)
If application is complete, PCS will mail exam materials to you (see step 3)
3. PCS mails examination material(s) to you
Practical exams - Your Admission Notice should arrive 10 days before your scheduled exam date
Theory exams - Your ATT letter should arrive within 7 days from your application approval date.
If you do not receive examination materials within the time frames (listed above),
please contact PCS at 1-888-822-3272
4. Take examination(s) on your scheduled date(s)
5. Score results are sent to you through the U.S. postal service.
PCS will mail official practical score 10 days after exam
PCS will mail official theory score 10 days after exam
6. When you pass your required examination(s), you will be sent a Licensure Fee Notice
Mail your completed Licensure Fee Notice (along with required license fee) to the VA Board office for license
NOTE: Please allow the Virginia DPOR office 30 days to issue and mail this license to you.
7. If you fail an exam, you must receive an official score notice from PCS before registering again.
Once you receive a score notice call PCS at 1-888-822-3272 (rescheduling fees apply).
